PDCI Automotive Grand Opening Ceremony

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Governor Beshear Announces PDCI Automotive To Locate New Manufacturing Facility in Lebanon
Company to create 40 new jobs, invest more than $1.6 million as a result of the project

LEBANON, Ky. (Mar. 28, 2011) – Gov. Steve Beshear today joined community leaders and officials of PDCI Automotive, a subsidiary of Pacific Die Cut Industries, to announce the company has chosen to locate a new manufacturing facility in Lebanon. The project will result in 40 new jobs and a more than $1.6 million investment in the Commonwealth.

“Kentucky is proud to be the choice location of PDCI Automotive’s new manufacturing facility, which will supply the automotive industry throughout the South and Midwest,” said Gov. Beshear. “This new operation, which will create 40 new job opportunities for the citizens of Marion County, will provide a positive economic boost and we are pleased to play a role in making it possible.”

The operation, which will be located in a 30,000 square-foot facility at 715 East Main Street, will focus on converting and die cutting of soft and semi-rigid material for automotive applications.  PDCI Automotive’s portfolio includes several major tier one suppliers.  The Lebanon plant is expected to be operational by August 2011.

“Our Lebanon, Kentucky facility is expected to employ at least 40 local employees within three years,” said Mike Behnam, president of Pacific Die Cut Industries. “Our presence here is due to the business-friendly environment fostered by Governor Beshear, Marion County, the city of Lebanon and the skilled, hard-working citizens of Kentucky. We express our gratitude and look forward to building a long-term partnership in our new Kentucky home.”

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved PDCI Automotive for tax incentives up to $1,125,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program.  The performance-based incentives will allow the company to keep a portion of its investment over a 15-year period through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.

“Legislative quote”

“I am extremely pleased that this economic development project has been approved,” said Rep. Terry Mills of Lebanon. “Creating 40 good, new jobs is certainly a boost to our local economy.  I am proud of the people who worked so hard to make this project a reality.”

“On behalf of the city of Lebanon I wish to thank the Governor and the Economic Development Cabinet for their enthusiasm and dedication to the development of the Commonwealth,” said Lebanon Mayor Gary Crenshaw. “We are proud to be able to welcome PDCI Automotive into our community and thank them for their confidence in our community, our workforce and our future endeavors.”

“Marion County is indeed fortunate that PDCI Automotive will provide new jobs to our local manufacturing sector,” said Marion County Judge Executive John G. Mattingly. “These jobs will provide local residents with much needed job opportunities.  We as local officials are grateful and thankful that PDCI Automotive has chosen Marion County as the site for their new facility.”
